El Templo de Debod Spain
On Wednesday, after class, we had the opportunity to visit the Templo de Debod, a gift from the country of Egypt to Spain for it’s assistance in helping to saving the temples of Abu Simbel in Egypt during the late 19th century. It was built during the 2nd Century, and its’ final resting place is near the Royal Palace in Madrid.Overall, the temple and the surrounding parks looked very inviting. It rests on a little hill in west Madrid, overlooking the rest of the city. Surrounding the temple is a fairly active park. Tourists and locals alike spend hours just soaking in the sun or relaxing in the grass. There was even a flamenco dancer preparing for a photo shoot.
